Cosmos

With incredible blue skies above us we drove out into the country towards the Cradle of Mankind, north of Johannesburg.  At this time of year the Cosmos flower alongside the highways/side roads but due to the amount of rain we have been having much of the shoulder-height long grass had been cut back along with the tall flowering Cosmos.  Unfortunately there was not the usual banks of color like last year much to our disappointment!  However in a few of our favorite spots we did manage to capture the wonderful pink and white blooms together with the luminous fluffy grass waving in the afternoon's warm Summer breeze.
