The fact that Hartebeespoort Dam is a haven for waterbirds, did little to deter this madman from flinging his speedboat around the dam with his two passengers hanging on for dear life, at one time he even tried to race a jet ski! All of a sudden a small Police plane appeared out of nowhere flying low over the dam but the driver had gone to shore to collect a new passenger. Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the dam, where we were, the birdlife was carrying on as usual but keeping a very safe distance.
