Our winters are rain-less so the grass turns yellow and dies and the dirt roads send forth clouds of dust into the still air in the driver's wake enveloping any poor human being who happens to be walking to or from his or her destination. Unfortunately also during this time of the year bush fires are common place and one can easily be seen on the mountain's ridge burning brightly in the close-up night-time photograph. The sky here is a 'thoroughfare' for flights to and from Europe and other destinations and during my six minute time expose two airplanes crossed the frame. During our many times spent out here at the dam we have chanced to see strange lights in the sky..... No matter what, the dust and smoke does however make for stunning photographs whether they be taken at sunset or sunrise.
